ps3 video playback

i want to burn videos to a cd and play them on the ps3, they are currently in wmv format and i cant figure out a way to get them to play on the ps3, it wont play vcds and any other attempt ive tried hasnt worked. i can also do the 360 if anyone has any way to get it to play on there, but i really want to get these movies to play on either of these. no access to a pc where im going to be playing them back.

Tried going to (Settings) > (System Settings) and set [Enable WMA Playback]?
