BG School: Should N. Korea's arms programs evoke a hardline response?

Hey all. For my World Issues class they assigned each of us a question going on in the world and to find out how people feel regarding it.

As the title suggests, it is regarding if there should be a hardline response toward North Korea's arms programs.

I know there have been different topics going around regarding North Korea's tests in general but I wanted to keep it a bit more organized and use a poll as well.

taking a hardline response against North Korea has never worked and probably never will

the only way to make any progress with Pyongyang is by actively involving China, as they're about the country in the world NK will listen to

You should be looking for information on academic journals, not on the opinions of angry children.

Obviously the only way to make them not want to blow us off the face of the earth is to bomb the fuck out of them, look how well it works in the middle east!

Seeing how Obama's campaign was focused on diplomacy, an "hardline" response would be awkward at this stage.

I could understand asking people on the Internets if this was a sociology class.

Not sure why you're not questioning us on our background. Like age group for example? I don't know. Whatever is applicable.

Might be important to know. Otherwise this sample has no context.

That Foreign Policy article is kind of ridiculous. The first page was basically dribble. "Nuclear weapons aren't a danger because...no one has set any off after WWII and we spent a lot of money and time building and storing them." What the fuck does the fact that we spent a shit ton of money on BUILDING them have to do with their danger? No shit a lot of money was pissed away on building them, but that has absolutely no bearing on the danger of someone else blowing one up in the middle of D.C.

I can't believe he would relate a nuclear attack to 9/11 either. It was tragic and all, but that was only 3,000 people. You cannot possibly compare the two, and even then, is he saying we shouldn't be bothered with trying to stop something even if he is right just because it won't completely destroy our economy?

The last two pages of the article were solid, its just that I almost quit reading because the first bit was so poorly done. His thoughts on Iran and North Korea are pretty good points, but they aren't really anything new even though he talks like he is saying ground breaking stuff. However, anyone studying foreign policy or international politics should already know the answer to this threads question is NO, although it is oversimplifying things.

Fairly mellow class since it is so large and simple, just normal public opinion. Could've made up responses and she wouldn't care but I was myself curious as well.

I appericate it for some of the written work but was mostly looking for public reponses in this topic

Fairly surprised with the current trend of votes was expecting a more extreme side in terms of votes, curious to see if it stays that way.
