The Idiot's Guide to Cats: Part Mew

Ok. Since she came back from outside, she's been behaving sweeter than ever. Except for 1 thing.... She shits all over my floor, every fucking day. Her litter box is clean. She's not sick. She's just not going in it.

Wtf can I do to make her go in it again? Is she trying to idk... mark her territory with shit instead of piss? If it is she's been marking it for a while now will it stop?

Never heard of a cat marking with shit lol!

Is she shitting in the same place constantly? If she is, move the litter box there.

Have you changed the brand of litter, or the litter box recently?

I actually have changed the litterbox, but I bought the same model she had before. The actually litter is the same it's always been.

I never heard of that either... But i'm clueless why she's doing that. I did change her food, but since I thought that was the problem, I switched back to her old and she still does it. What's wierd is.. She actual goes into her litterbox, sometimes...

It's as if she was telling herself "nah not the litter this time, the floor seems like a good spot"

Alfie does that when he pisses an ocean on his box so there is nothing dry to stand on.

I've been thinking about rigging a grate he can piss through/shit through/stand on because the only time he craps next to the box is when it's soaked.

I can understand, I wouldn't wanna step in piss-soaked cat litter either, we briefly tried to have two boxes, but he pissed in both, then shit beside them... I put down a trash bag under the box so if he soaks it before I get to it to spread dry litter, he'll crap on the bag.

I had a problem with my cat where he had a urinary infection so whenever he would try to use the litter box he couldn't and it hurt. We only noticed when he stopped using the litter box and started going around our apartment. The vet told us that if they continually experience pain using the litter box they'll start to associate that pain with the litter box, thus not using it. Have you noticed any odd behavior with her and/or taken her to the vet? If she has some sort of problem she may be doing what my cat did.

fwiw my cat would still try to use the litter box sometimes; other times he just skipped the process and went under my desk. I noticed him trying to go and he was just shaking violently trying to go which is what prompted us to take him in.

Hmm will probably have to take it up to the vet then. Every time she shits on the floor I pick her up and try to put her in her box, but it's as if she was scared of it.

You should kick it out of the house and leave it there until it learns a lesson.

Try bringing it to the litter box and using it's paws to dig into the litter, like training a kitten. Try it a few times. If it continues, there may be something wrong with the cat (not being able to control his bowels). Also keep it clean; cats hate dirty litter boxes.

How would beating your kids help him with his cat problem?

What the fuck does karma have to do with it either?

    It's a cat, not a chameleon!

On the subject of chameleons, I want one of these, this thing fits the "haters gonna hate" meme perfectly.

My cat is sort of like that to. He won't use the litter box to crap in but instead he'll use the rug which is literally a foot away from the box.

Haven't seen a lot of info on a fix for that yet sadly.
