    May 2011 - Additional Version Updates

    Event-related

    * The following additions / adjustments will be made to Voidwatch.

    o A new item that will act as a substitute for the voidstone has been added.

    * Additional texts will be added to the Goblin NPCs that sell the key items to enter Dynamis. These new text will assist players by explaining the new system in detail.
    * Adjusting the location of the synergy furnace in Jeuno.


    Battle-related

    * We will be making changes to how certain monsters in the following areas will detect a player character. In addition, the monster placement of certain notorious monsters will be adjusted.
    Ranguemont Pass / Bostaunieux Oubliette / Toraimarai Canal / Zeruhn Mines / King Ranperre's Tomb / Dangruf Wadi / Inner Horutoto Ruins / Ordelle's Caves / Outer Horutoto Ruins / Eldieme Necropolis / Gusgen Mines / Crawlers' Nest / Maze of Shakhrami / Garlaige Citadel / Fei'Yin
    * The following additions / adjustments will be made to Grounds of Valor.

    o Adjusting the amount of experience points earned upon completion of a regime.
    o Increase the number of “Grounds Tome” placed within the designated areas.

    * The following adjustments will be made to the puppetmaster job.

    o The following adjustments will be made to the new automaton attachments.

    + Heat Capacitor
    It will no longer erase all Fire Maneuver effects.
    * Please note that the help message for the attachment will be adjusted at a later date.
    + Power Cooler
    It will reduce the MP cost even if there are no Ice Maneuvers in effect.
    + Galvanizer
    It will increase the chance of countering even if there are no Thunder Maneuvers in effect.

    o The following adjustments will be made to the new weapon skills that were added. In addition, we will address an issue wherein the damage of the weapon skill is not calculated properly.

    + String Shredder
    Increasing the damage and the addition of status bonuses.
    + Armor Shatterer
    Increasing the damage and the addition of status bonuses.
    Changing the skillchain element from Fragmentation / Scission to Fusion / Impaction.

    * The following issue with the summoner job will be addressed.

    o An issue wherein the damage of “Crescent Fang,” “Mountain Buster,” “Tail Whip” is higher than intended.

    * The following additions / adjustments will be made to Abyssea.

    o The game will remember the Atma that the player was last infused with.
    o Adjustments will be made to the new methods that were added to obtain empyrean upgrade items.
    o Placing additional “???” which can be used to spawn certain notorious monsters.
    o Adjusting the location of new Abyssea support NPCs that have been added to San d’Oria / Bastok / Windurst.


    Item-related

    * Increasing the number of new linkshells that are sold.


    Other issues that will be addressed

    * An issue wherein a previously etched aperture is removed from an item during synergy.
    * An issue wherein certain text within the Fellowship Quest is incorrect.

    Are they atma sets or just remembering what you last used lol. Seems like time spawn mobs turning into force pop, or at least that is what I take from it.

    What the fuck? SE is proactive and making appropriate adjustments with a short latency.

    What game am I playing? This sure isn't FFXI.

    Not really atma sets, but if you're consistently on one type of job (mnk/thf/nin/dnc) that all use rr/gh/aoa, it'll be easier. Just not when switching between mage/melee jobs.

    It'll be nice for people with pocket whms, for sure, though.

    Nah, it looks like a quick solution until they can add in the atma sets. The NPCs will remember the most recent atma set players used.

    Also, I wouldn't bank on a force spawn for NMs like Guku (although I could easily be wrong). It sounds like SE will add multiple ??? spots for crowded NMs like Bria, Sobek, and so on. Probably most, if not all, of the popular Empyrean Weapon NMs will have multiple ??? spawns.

    I'm glad they're working on this so soon instead of waiting til august to fix any issues. As far as the pup stuff goes I'm really happy about both the fire attachment and the new WS damage bonuses. I know that the ranged one being a def down WS it wouldn't do a whole lot of damage...But it is also a four-hit WS...so it should've at least done more than 800-1k xD

    orly? Interesting... (the 20 hour crap is kinda lame for fights lasting all of 5-10 minutes, so this is good, I guess.

    I didn't get that from it. I think they're adding more ???s for monsters like Sobek.

    Exactly what I was thinking. Was expecting them to leave stuff like this until the next content update.


    Good to see I didn't bother investing in the new pup attachments, as I hate having attachments sitting on my automaton that do nothing with no maneuvers up. (unless it's a JA/Buff attachment)

    What's with the LS thing btw? I'm taking it the NPC only sells X amount of them a day or something? If that's the case, must be fun regrouping everyone after a server merge.




    On a side note, SE really needs to drop the floating books idea, and just give us either a command, or an item like the Magian specs, to just summon a book at will and update our stuff/get buffs. It's getting stupid just seeing these books at the start of every zoneline now. Same goes for the Abyssea maws, but I can't think of a better alternative, as they do stand out like a sore thumb in the zones.




    Bit curious if the new ???s will be spread out, or just stacked on top of each other to give the illusion of a ??? that allows X amount of popped NMs at once.

    That would be amazing if they were talking about ???s for timed spawn NMs, but I just read it like Eeeks/Byrth, so multiple spawns for the current ??? NMs. If anyone knows JP, can you check out the posting in that forum to see if there's any better information? Maybe the original write-up is more clear.

    As for the ??? thing, I think it could be interpreted as either additional ???s for current NMs, or additional ???s for NMs that currently don't have them. (Guku, Heqet, etc.)

    Which one is it? Is it both? Just one of them? I don't know. Whichever one it is, it's probably going to be beneficial. Guess we'll find out? Until then, I'm surprisingly hopeful.

    Yeah, that's exactly right. It can take awhile to finally get an unopened Linkshell from the NPC vendors. They seem to sell out of them pretty quickly. At least that's what I remember the Pandy people saying when those poor bastards arrived on Asura.

    Seriously, we were able to get a new pearl only after the emergency maint.

    Weren't they supposed to send new linkshells out to old shellholders on source worlds after the merge for that reason? Did that ever happen?

    ^ This. Frankly, I believe SE already underestimated the number of people/ease of which Emps are obtained, I can't envision them making Emps any easier.

    But hey, if they do make the "_______'s Aery" NM's poppable, that's great.
