FFXI rough gameplay on gtx 770

Got the new gtx 770 from evga, and although there is no drop in fps, the game play seems rough and very small hiccups running around.

I have a feeling this is from the 3d settings in the control panel, but have yet to narrow down the cause. all help would be appreciated before i start reinstalling drivers.

in my experience, the better the graphics card the worse FFXI runs. sorry Im not more help but the engine is just so damn old it doesnt play well because they cant/wont update it for modern systems

And that's what I kinda figured, was thinking about putting my 460 in it and running ffxi on that card, but i may just put up with it as it's not hurting my game play at all, its just slightly annoying

What CPU do you use? Can utilise the GPU on that perhaps, instead downgrading. Modern nVidias allows you to customise which app uses the nVidia or the onboard GPU (possibly only for laptops though, not tried or seen it in a desktop!)
