Louie (New Louis C.K. Series on FX)

Anybody else catch the first few episodes? I really enjoyed what I saw so far. That's going to be a really bizarre little series if it keeps up like this. I thought the soundtrack was really great, the one camera comedy is like nothing else you're seeing on television right now, and the sort of meandering narrative really makes the show feel different. It's not quite a sketch comedy show, and not quite a sitcom, but it's pretty funny. Plus, I'm always rooting for Louis C.K. to get a chance to really showcase his comedy.

Haven't seen it all yet, but Louis C.K. is hilarious and I hope this show is as well.

It almost feels like he is taking comedy stories and making them into reality, which is an interesting way of approaching a TV show that I haven't seen done before. I like it so far (halfway into the first episode).

His standup on dvd is probably my favorite of any comedian. At the same time, it is REALLY ronchy. I will probably see his tv show, but at the same time I expect it to ruin him as one of my favorite comedians even more that his role on parks and rec did.

DAMMIT, I forgot to watch this. Is the show anything like Lucky Louie from a few years back? That show was amazing, totally didn't last long enough.

It's not really like Lucky Louie. It's much more free form. It's almost like stream of consciousness. It doesn't really seem like it's going to have storylines or plots. It's him doing stand up, then a single camera vignette based on what he was talking about. If it keeps up like this, it's more a show about nothing than Seinfeld.

This show won't ruin his comedy for anybody. FX gave him a lot of freedom to do exactly what he wanted. He's starring, writing, directing, and editing everything. It's his crazy stream of consciousness put into this weird little package.

Fuck! I forgot to catch it but, but man I love Louis CK's work. I hated when his HBO show got canceled a few years ago, I will definitely catch up and be a regular watching this one as well.

I did watch Louie and I would watch this more, but it's on FX. I refuse to watch a channel that forces me to max out my volume to hear a program, only to induce pants-shitting terror from the strident scream of Wacky Dave and his low low low prices. Perhaps when the CALM bill takes effect, I could stomach FX.

Show is exactly as poor as I expected. The only part worth watching in it is the stand-up clips.

Louis C.K. is one of my favorite stand-up comedians, but his part on parks and rec was terrible and his new show is just as bad; ;

I love the show. It's so different. I loved how he played straight man to Gervais in the first vignette. I also thought the second vignette was interesting, but not as laugh out loud. I thought it had it's moment in a quiet way. I imagine throughout the season there will be a fair amount of hits and misses.
