Lots of new Star Trek stuff coming out. Kinda have mixed feelings on it as a huge fan of the older shows(and lower decks), but also cautiously optimistic. Since theres a Demo, I'll give it a shot

I played through the demo, it took them a moment to update the game because it was a RAM hog that crashed PC's, and the easiest way to describe this is that it's "Surviving The Aftermath" with a Star Trek theme. The demo even has the same "failure" point as the Surviving demo, day 20 where everything that can go wrong does. I managed to survive until day 77 and finished the provided story. The biggest bottleneck is getting the correct crew summoned. Almost all of the demo's available buildings require engineers and scientists, also security for resource gathering. Once a day, you get to select a free crewmate or a resource that costs 2 metal to beam down (even it's metal that is offered). Up until the 60 days mark, every crew member I was offered was either medical or command, both of which have zero purpose in the demo. You can't even assign crew to the ship to provide enhance support. The provided map is huge, metal is scare, and your crew has the speed of a snail. My biggest issue with the game was the management of power. Power cannot pass through buildings, so you have to connect a unique power line to each building. Also, you're not told how much power a building requires until after it is built. I ended up building six solar power arrays to meet my needs. Building space is a constant issue as you can't just clear land. Each "tree" type has to be individually researched before it can be "chopped" down. The game is a lot of busy work.
