Lightning dodging is easy just takes a while, it’s probably become more difficult as the years have gone by and we subject ourselves to brain rot and don’t have attention spans to lock in like we did in 2002

Junctioning was the shit, and also not a battle system. XIV has the worst battle system. I know I've talked about it before but the premise of every single boss battle being "stand here to win" means that without rage timers every fight would only require the bare minimum needed to survive attacks and gear progression would be meaningless. Yes the game itself is v fun but not enough to make me get invested in it's poor battle design.

alright here. ill even explain some choices. sticking with main numbered games.

Worst Protagonist: Bartz (V). He has literally no personality.
Worst Antagonist: Vayne (XII). Wholly unmemorable, the lesser antagonists like Gabranth completely overshadow him.
Worst Overworld Map: FFXIII. Do I need to explain.
Worst Mandatory Boss Fight: Garuda (III). Hope you’re enjoying the job system, now change everyone’s job to dragoon or die.
Worst Optional Boss Fight: Warmech (I). It’s mostly because it’s not really optional, the game can just decide to fuck you even if you don’t want to fight it.
Worst Mandatory Dungeon: Crystal Tower/World of Darkness (FFIII). A final dungeon that is probably the longest in the series, with the bonus that it was an NES dungeon with no save points. Beating it as intended, especially on a first playthrough, is absolute hell.
Worst Optional Dungeon: Deep Sea Research (VIII). It sucks. That is all.
Worst Side Activity or Mini-game: Fishing (XI). I was a fisherman. You can’t yell at me. You know I’m right anyway.
Worst Battle System: II. What are we doing here.
Worst Side Quest System: If we are talking “worst side quests” I’m going VIII.
Worst Song: Sortie (XI). Absolute ear cancer.
Worst Trophy/Achievement: Perfect Sphere Master (X). It sucks.
Worst Chocobo: XIII, as they are useless.
Worst Airship: Fuck you guys. The Regalia (XV).
Worst Cid: VI. He was a mad scientist and he got what he deserved.
Worst Ultimate Weapon Grind: My guy, the FFXI REMA weapons are right there. If you don’t count MMO grinding, then it’s trapezohedron farming in XIII.
Worst Party Member (Not Main Character): Edward (IV). Spoony Bard.
Worst Spinoff/Sequel/Expansion: XIII-2. Is this over yet.
Worst Intro/Tutorial Level: Narshe Caves (VI). The intro has you use mech abilities that have nothing to do with the combat system.
Worst Ending: Probably V because I have no memory of how it ended.

Combine XI's grind with XIV's battles and you've got pretty close to an insufferable game. You would spend hours if not days if not weeks getting better gear so that you can go into a boss fight and still lose immediately if you don't stand on the odd numbered tiles every alternating Wednesday but only if the moon is Gibbous.

VI's Cid was a Magitek guy, he probably only did some light human experimentation. He's an Operation Paperclip guy, not a flee-to-Argentina guy.
