Animated Spear tips

My Dynamis shell just tried to take Animated Spear recently, since we're close to having enough currency to finish it. We managed to get it down to ~50% before it decided to warp.

We started off with our SAM doing a solo Light skillchain, and all our mages using their strongest nukes on it, then we were supposed to go all out on it, thinking that the skillchain would interest it. Obviously, it didn't.

I was wondering if anyone might have any tips on taking Animated Spear. I searched a few topics and found some interesting things, but nothing specifically talking about Animated Spear.

Also, we've heard that you can stun the Warp, but it resisted all the Stuns our RDMs cast. I've heard that only DRK and BLM can do the stun. Is that true as well?

I dont think every weapon has their own strat, theres alot of stuff that works good on every weapon. I'm trying really hard not to make a joke about fighting the spear also.

Don't wait, SC's at the start aren't worth it givent that the weapon warps out. Sleep > TP300 > Engage > WS > Wing > TP100 > WS and keep spamming.

The best thing we've come up with to keep its interest is inviting it to a party. =x

We're probably going to just go all out on it next time we go, but I figured it was worth a shot to see if anyone might know something we could try different.

My Dynamis shell had a member complete Gungnir about a week ago. The Animated Spear is just like any other, though Geirskogul's added effect can cause a slowdown in melee damage (shock spikes).

The trick with any weapon isnt to throw everything you got at it the instant you claim it. If you do, you'll have maybe 10 seconds to kill it, because its gonna lose interest and you're gonna have nothing to reclaim the interest.

I dont imagine there is anything special about this fight. Train the sattelites, stagger your WSs on it, have PLDs/DRKs save shield/weapon bash for when it starts casting warp, blms nuke hard and rdms chainspell nuke. MNK/DRK or DRK souleater kraken can't hurt. There's really no trick if you know all that, just go all out on it like you said.
