Assault Breastplate info

I searched through the threads on the topic, one or two people said there was some evidence it could only be obtained by doing the Mammet BC with a full or near-full alliance. Nobody seemed to have a conclusive answer, though, so I wanted to see if anyone else has ever seen one drop. If so, how many people did you bring to the fight?

A friend and I did the BC once a week for a while but it kinda got phased out after I heard this rumor. If I had confirmation it could drop with fewer people, I'd definitely start trying again.

I know that someone in my LS does this practically religiously solo every week. He does it for the exp scrolls involved though, so he does the trick where u can keep checking NPC til it shows EXP scroll. One time, it took him a TON of checks to get to an exp scroll. In that time the NPC offered a couple assault breastplates and behe hides among the hordes of trash. So I would assume that means the reward isn't dependent on how many people you take to do it? It may be related, but not dependent.

At this point I'm thinking placebo effect with a large group, because you have 18 people turning in at the same time instead of one or two. And if he's offering the BP as a potential reward to a solo person, that'd be the answer.

So if your friend's observations were accurate, then I guess you can get it with any number?

Doesn't sound like he was going for the trick, just sounds like he really wanted the XP instead of a 1 in a however much chance at the AB. But the fact that he was shown the AB at some point means that the NPC tried to give him one, which is proof enough that it is possible to get it. In fact, that's probably a good way to determine the rough drop chance.

Larger groups definitely do seem to increase the average reward. Go solo or duo and you get a lot of exp scrolls, lesser Mannequin pieces like legs, and shit food like Bream Risotto or Crimson Jelly. Go with a full alliance and you rarely get an exp scroll, Behemoth Hides and other valuable drops are not too rare (Think we've gotten 2 of them in 5 full runs), and the Mannequin pieces and food get upgraded to Mannequin Body and Vermillion Jelly.

i did uninvited guests with septimus for like 4-6? months? i dunno, it was a long time

all ive gotten that wasnt an exp scroll was vermillion jelly (maybe 2) and a bison steak

never saw any mannequin drops, no behe hides (; , no assault breastplate

What Geno says is right. You make full inventory, and talk to the npc. From there on end, you can see what kind of prizes are available until he offers you an exp scroll. Unfortunately, you are unable to obtain the previous item you passed up =/

Also, someone said that 18 people is the placebo effect. It is probably true since 18 people are obtaining a prize, chances are stronger one of them will get an assault breastplate; in oppose to 1 person soloing the quest, and never seeing an assault breastplate.

In the past you were able to talk to Justinus with full inventory to see what you were going to get. If you did not like the item, you could zone out and talk to him again and it would randomly select a reward from the loot pool again. That is the trick I was referring to, I used it to pass up many a Tiger Eye and Breem Risotto. Sadly it was changed a while ago.

I do this every week with a duo or trio and have been for about a year now. 2 weeks ago the NPC glitched or something and would not give me an XP scroll after maybe 50+ tries. In that time, I saw a lot of crap, but nothing that was worth more in value than an angel skin. I didn't see a behemoth hide or an assault breastplate and never have in the 50+ times I've done this BC and cycled through the rewards. I know groups who have gone in an alliance and almost half of them got a behemoth hide after talking to the NPC without using the trick. I don't think thats a placebo effect.

On topic, if you really want that BP, I'd take as many people as possible to the BC and hope you get very lucky.

my group has gotten 2 or 3 evokers from this so far... its about every two weeks one pops up. But we have live evokers in some our loot pools from other BCs so we run the risk of losing them

I do it with a group of 4 (including myself). We went through a 6 month period of no evokers. Then in 2 weeks, we had 2 evokers.

I've also received tons of Mannequin parts (garbage now, but worth a lot back in the day) and one B.hide.

Number of people mean nothing.

2 for 5 in 18 man groups with Cloud Evokers (Ie, only 2 out of 90 possible), along with the 2 Behemoth Hides. I think my drops from the 18 man have been something like 2 Mannequin Bodies, 2 Orichalcum Ores, Mannequin Head.

i've taken a full alliance 5 straight weekends now to do UG. we've gotten 2 or 3 evokers, no AB. only one week did we see 6-7 exp scrolls, the rest has been trash.

I got 2 evokers solo, so numbers definitely mean nothing for that. Completed this many many weeks in a row and saw every drop but the breastplate and behemoth hide, even every food drop and mannequin part incl body.

Personally, I won't believe Behemoth Hides come from it till I see a screenshot.

I know that having a full inv will cause the NPC to give you the item but it you'll get the insufficient inv space message and see what you would have gotten... but honestly what good is that ?

If you want to force something other than a MM, I guess all you would need to do have a MM in your inv. The game won't let you get the MM but it should let you get other stuff.

Doesn't work unfortunately. After they reprogrammed the NPC, once you are offered an XP scroll you're stuck with it. I tried this a few times with memoirs in inventory and got offered a scroll every time. It just says "come back after sorting your inventory"

i tried doing that along time ago.. i got an xp scroll from the sacrarium quest, then went to go accept my UG reward.. jus said i couldnt obtain it no matter how many times i tried talkin to justinus
