Big Bomb anyone?

Noone has been there since server up, now theres gilsellers there so I feel more inclined to give it a try, anyone got dusky flask or killed Big Bomb since patch? Seems everyone is infatuated with Thief's Knife/Pallas/Alkyoneus, about 0/30 killing Friar Lanterns near Big Bomb, now gilsellers are here competing for the one that pops where Big Bomb used to, and camping it expectantly waiting for it to pop, so I think we'll try somewhere else, hopefully works the same as THF Knife and doesn't have to be right at the NM.

edit: got a smoky flask 4 mobs after I posted, going to pop now, assuming drop rate is douched like alky/pallas

I killed a couple lanterns, 3 or 4 near the ??? for the whitegate quest (the camera one), and like 3 near the entrance to the dahak island (untill I got blown up lol) without any drops.

no drop, the gilsellers were perplexed when it popped claimed lol. anyone know a good location in halvung where theres a large amount of bombs? somepage says theres 60+ friar lanterns here but only like 6 near big bomb.

Theres usually lanterns around the lava pits.

Do the lanterns near big bomb cast magic ?? Because the two sets I went after werent casting anything. However, I'm certain when I used to run through to the Dahak section and just trained mobs, they would cast on me.

ya, they're casting firaga3/flare/fire4/burn/enfire/blaze spikes, gilsellers are pulling them now so I'm trying to find an alternate zone entrance that has a large amount of bombs, 16 min repop is kinda gay.

The bombs that were Big Bomb's PHs act differently I believe. The item prolly only drops from those.

maybe only the bombs that cast magic can drop the items then, unless theres something that triggers it.

Not to say that 0/7 is concrete proof of anything.

another flask dropped like 10 mobs later, no drop on big bomb..not sure what the drop rate was before, but I assume abysmally low, gilsellers still only killing the PH but they're bound to get a flask sometime

edit: the one that dropped was on the PH, not that its proof of anything, don't remember which the first flask dropped off of

I know if you go past the true sight trolls, there are some magic casting bombs on those lava pits. Still a huge pain to get there unless you want to die and RR or have sleep, but probably not much competition.

I had always though all bombs in Halvung (and possibly all ToAU bombs, clusters not included?) cast magic? Not sure if they only cast when they engage like flan, though.

They may have worm logic, which will prevent them from casting if you never leave melee range.

I have seen most of the bombs in Halvung cast magic as I run by to various zones. The ones way over otw to Jade Spechular I just run by w/o invis and they usually cast magic on me as I agg and run.

I thought the PHs for Big Bomb grew like he did or something? I would think that only those paticular ones would drop. Maybe I'm mistaken about them or wrong tho, idk.

nah, I pull w/ elegy (2box brd), and they dont cast.

i think SE shouold do somthing like a NM pops and if a GS has been marked they cant claim it so SE keeps its money buy having the gs's pay, but gs's cant make any money muwaha

I went with a few friends to find the pop item for this and noticed the same thing. I could consider the types of bombs located in Halvung to be BLM and WAR. With the conversations in LS, we pretty much got the same information. 2 grow large and cast magic, located on the Ramp upwards near the ???. The rest do not grow large and do not cast magic. At least from the direction I took to reach the pop area. Maybe an alternate path that will lead you to different variations of bombs and their respective jobs.

Only having 2 possible mobs out of the 60ish bombs located in Halvung to be able to drop the pop item. And to top it off, 16min respawns. Quite sadistic SE. Time to go hunting on BST and see if I find different locations for magic-casting Friar Lantern

Same, i spent some time killing the DC friar lanterns, they didnt cast nor drop the flask.

A few friends and me went over to big bombs spawn and the two leading up the trail where indeed casting, we got the drop off one of those two, so did a group that came after us then the RMT came and crowded our camp (atleast 12 characters).

We got extremely lucky it seems and got the bomblet drop, this doesn't really change Big bomb much exept for the possibility of more spawns per hour instead of a lottery pop.
