Fast Newbie Questions in Advanced Discussion = Ban

Post a question in advanced because you "wanted a fast answer" gets you a fast ban. That is all.

It just didn't seem to me to pertain to that section and since I was looking for a fast answer, knowing the popularity of the Advanced talk section, thought I could post it here, didn't mean to offend anyone.

User posted an advanced question in a topic that should have been in any other forum than this one, but had a pretty damn obvious answer, as if any MMO stores cdkey information like that client side. Im sick of crap topics popping up because they didnt want to use search. Legitimate questions will NEVER get a ban, questions that went in adv that belong in newbie will be moved. Questions that you post because you didnt feel like using search or asking in any of the other 5 topics detailing the item in question will result in removal of your posting privileges for a temporary or permanent amount of time.

This isnt a place for shitty topics with shitty questions, especially if you arent going to ask in the proper section then say you just posted it here because you felt it would be faster.

First, my question may have seemed obvious to some, it is not to many. Second, if you use the search function for the question I was asking, nothing pertinent comes out of it. Finally, at the time I posted my question, from the 2 first pages of the "Advanced Player Discussion", there was not even 5 threads relevant to the standards of what should be in that forum.

Might I add that I was also respectful of everyone and didn't threaten, flame and/or resort to childish behaviours. I'm still surprised by the amount of people trolling forums that have nothing constructive to add in a discussion but still getting away with it.

I wasn't planning to stay much longer in this forum. If only it had interesting discussions about the game instead of numerous meaningless flame threads. I was only hoping for an intelligent answer from the administrators instead of a "OMG, I rule this forum, I have a ban stick and i'll use it since it's the only form of authority I can exercise in my pathetic life" kind of reply.

We're all in agreement that your question didn't qualify for Advanced; you either knew it didn't and posted anyway, or you don't know how to evaluate questions and find their proper location. But since you've analyzed the 2 first pages and found 'not even 5 threads relevant to the standards' then you're an expert on it and DO know which questions go where.
So you did it anyway because hey, rules are for those other idiots right? I'll get you a handicapped sticker ASAP so people know you're exempt from rules.

Hey, fuck you. I resent that. If it were not for interesting discussions on this board, I'd be much less able to enjoy a lot of this game in my free time (being that one of the interesting discussions going on currently is a thread regarding testing I have been involved with in game).



Just because of an expansion and a number of idiotic questions and a number of just as idiotic responses have clogged up the forums because they don't take the time to read things doesn't mean there are no interesting discussions. It sounds more to me that you read the first three posts of about five threads on the first page and didn't even bother to look at anything else. ._.

And the mods are having to deal with trying to keep all this in order at the moment, and it's really really annoying to see the same types of questions come up repeatedly because people are too lazy or don't take a little time to compute logic. Logic would tell me reg codes are not stored client side whatsoever, as we know all the problems people have had trying to reset passwords, etc, when they don't have them. Not to mention that would be just plain fucking stupid on pretty much any type of software.

And, even better, if people who are posing questions get an answer, go update the bgwiki with the info. That way there will be less repeatitive questions on the forums, and the bgwiki becomes even more useful.
