ODS Duo

Looking to duo this with a friend - I'm mnk, he's rdm/all subs - and it looks like the easiest way would be to have him go /smn and carby pull. In fact it looks a little too easy.

Does carby pull work in this BCNM? Or do they have a group hate mechanic that would get us both dead very quickly?

RDM can solo ODS (os so I've heard), probably better to go RDM/BLM and pull each scorp.

BLM can solo ODS. I highly doubt RDM can solo ODS. PLD can also solo with aegis, excal makes it quicker and more safe.

RDM/BLU might be able to solo it, but I think it'd take an extremely long time.
Basically just use the same strat PLD/RDM did, but it would take alot longer without an Excalibur >_>.
Some -% physical damage taken along with Cocoon and Phalanx would probably reduce the melee damage to next to nothing, after that it'd just be a matter of winning before time limit was up.

Wait, do they not require a Carby pull or something? How easy would it be to duo with a good DD/NIN? Which DDs would work for this fight? Info please! I would love to skip the whole "Solo your own scorp" thing for 6 runs just to use my orb.

They all link no matter what.
Not sure about a Carby pull.
RDM/BLU would just pull all of them and should be able to negate most of the damage through gear/cocoon/phalanx + stoneskin.

and then procede to time out lol. They'd wipe SS off really fast and you'd get interrupted sooo much. When phalanx wears you would be pretty fucked since you wouldn't be able to cast it again without getting interrupted.

Um...if a RDM/BLU would be taking the subpar damage I expect it would, along with Aquaveil, it would still be fine in getting it's spells back up. Personally, I would never bother soloing: why not just bring a friend and spend twice the time without worrying about wiping/timing out? Better yet, bring two.

I already mentioned timing out in my previous post.
You recast Phalanx before it wears off >_>.
I'm just speaking theoretically, it might work, might not.

Eh, even small amounts of damage can interrupt spells. You could melee but constant melee hits on you + WS's would keep you casting 25/7

-27% dmg taken without a D.Ring, just using Umbra Cape @ night/Genbu's Shield/Jelly Ring.
I'm pretty confident you could knock their melee hits down to 0s which means they won't be getting TP from melee hits.

330 def, getting hit 70-80 without any other debuffs, including phalanx. This is my def with Protect IV fyi. AoEs were about 130 dmg at start.

You have 30 min to kill 6. That leaves you 5 mintues of prep and about 4 minutes per scorpion. I can't honestly say how plausible that sounds when you have to gear for def also.

Says on the other wiki that it takes 4-5 Thundaga 3s to kill them...I don't think a CS would waste more than 1 of them, especially in a def build.
