    New Video Card

I got a XFX GeForce 8400GS video card. I installed in the computer, and updated both the drivers on the CD and from the website, which prolly wasn't needed. Now it looks a little fuzzy in diagonal lines across the screen. I'm really not sure what would cause it, so any help is appreciated.

    Did you uninstall old drivers?

If not try doing that, uninstall old, then go ahead and update with latest from website. Do you have a good enough power supply to support it? If so, and the above doesn't work, maybe try older or different drivers.

I didn't uninstall drivers (oops), and couldn't find how to disable the integrated motherboard one in BIOS. I'll go try looking for drivers, and I'm not sure about the power supply, because it didn't have a place to plug in on the card. I guess its getting power from the motherboard.

should be able to disable the integrated motherboard videocard from your device manager, don't think you'll need the bios.

if there wasn't a plug on the card itself, it is getting power via the PCI-E or AGP ports on the motherboard yes. it could still be the powersupply.

Ok, cool. I couldn't find the drivers, prolly because I'm retarded, but I'll go look to disable the integrated.

Well, it looks like the integrated card disabled itself, as its not showing up in the device manager. Turning the refresh rate up sorta helped the lines problem, but it was still there.

Prolly a dumb question, would it be possible that the problem is from not seating correctly? I got the PCIe slot in fine, but the end that attaches to the case didn't seem to want to go in the whole way.

Bump in case anyone has insight.

I've been talking to a tech with the company that made the card, and from what he says, the problem is with the card. They're gonna replace it, so I'm going ahead with that. My dad gave me an DVI converter to try, and it helped the problem a little bit, but its still fuzzy. Hopefully when I get a new one it doesn't get the same problem.

What company is it? It's nice to run into good customer service. I had a guy from EVGA one time give me his personal email and he was calling me every few days because of a problem I had that he ended up doing research for for me.

Yeah I haven't checked this thread, but my next idea would have been to call them and/or get an RMA and get a new one.

XFX made the card. I'm disappointed that the DVI slot works better because I eventually wanted to get another monitor and use two. Hopefully the next one, both ports will work.
