Dark Ixion and elegy

Quick question about Dark Ixion. Does elegy actually affect Dark Ixion? Or does it not matter for the same reason that para doesn't matter?

We have our brds come /blm. But it doesn't seem to really slow his attack rate, from what I can tell.

It's possible to land para on him, but it does nothing to him if I'm not mistaken. Is it possible that this is true for elegy as well?

I'm not sure if this is in any thread but it seemed that when we did slow II on it and it stuck, it didn't even effect it so I would assume the same for elegy.

When Ixion is in it's 'normal' mode (without the pink aura thing) Slow and Elegy have a considerable effect on his attack rate. But when he goes into his 'crazy' mode then debuffs dont seem to really do much

He's not as difficult to land Elegy on as some mobs are (Kirin, Khim, Cerb, etc.), but it's still quite hard. If your BRDs are geared extremely well, you can probably get away without ES.

It is hard, but certainly not as 'impossible' as other HNMs.

This is pretty much dead on from what I've seen tanking it, it's definately not as noticeable when he's spamming TP moves.

First off, I'm NOT talking about having trouble landing debuffs. Our mange have no trouble rotating elemental seals.

I'm testing it right now. He's in 'normal mode', and there is no noticeable difference or visible change in attack rate that I can see from having elegy and slow 2, and not having elegy and slow 2. On any other enemy this would be apparent. All of his normal attacks are considered TP moves, if you kite him around you constantly get the message "soandso is out of range" during his normal attacks. Test this out yourself. Leave both debuffs off for 5min, then have the brds and rdm both ele seal and stick both. Everyone in our alliance agrees that there isn't a visible attack speed difference. It would make sense if all his attacks are TP moves, that they can't be slowed.

I landed Slow2 and noticed no decrease in attack speed over a series of fights. Same with Para2 in terms of that proc'n.

Off topic - I was talking about vanilla BRD. I don't need to come BRD/BLM to land elegy on Ixion consistantly. On the other hand, BRD/BLM is recommended on the other NM's I listed. YMMV though, as we have some undergeared BRDs in our ls too that can't land elegy.

On topic - Did some testing on my end too, it doesn't seem to slow him down at all. Also seems to let para land, but it never proc'ed.

I was told that all of Ixions attacks are TP moves, which would not be affected by slow on him. Even his regular melee hits are a TP move, I think you could test it our of you kited him and it would say "xxxx is too far away" every time it were to attack. It doesn't say he readies any of them cept for like Zeus. I've never fought it so I am not 100% sure, but it would be kind of easy to test I guess?

Edit: Also explains why para wont proc, can't para WS's ;3

my ls only uses slow while in "his hard mode" but we use pld tanks all the time we nevar use nin. we can tell a diffrence but yeah para does nothing

Very sorry to bump an older thread but has it been confirmed that slow/elegy don't affect DI's attack rate? I just joined an ls that fights DI regularly and saw them spamming chat telling mages to ES slow it but thought I had read on here that it doesnt affect it, and now I'm confused. ><

all his attacks r ws and its just mostly random how fast he will ws. if u can notice ixion never makes a crit hit in log.

I think do not effect that if you compare it to cerb or another hnm see the difference in attack rate anyway dark ixion spam damsel memento. Paralyze never works on him ;;.
