Elementals

Anyone use any of these? I've been out of the Pankration loop due to LS stuff + expansion stuff soon. Are they any good? I'm kinda curious about this stuff.

I have been working on a Light Elemental.

It started out with 71 FP.
I think it will finish around 82 FP.

Currently it has:
WHM/BLM

Damage Resistance Bonus *Innate (lvl 30)
Instant Phalanx (lvl 30)
Instant Stoneskin (lvl 30)
Instant Ice Spikes (lvl 9)

*once i have enough points I will add Job Trait: WHM aswell for the magic defense bonus I and II and auto regen.

It casts banish non stop i'm having trouble controlling it. I had another one and it would cure itself... I assume this one can cast cure aswell but i've yet to see it. Although it has cast regen and protect a few times.

I am wondering if i have to give it WHM scrolls or does it have the scrolls innate because it seems to be casting WHM spells already?

Oh also I just added Ice Spikes.. but it doesn't seem to activate... is this because its level is so low? or does it have something to do with stoneskin.

Cures are linked to temperament, low level spikes aren't very effective.

Ok i've been at it all day.. got him casting things now that i want.

Back Off! = Buffs .. ie. Protect, Shell and Aquaveil

Heal, parry! = Healing . Regen and Highest Level Cure.

Elementals sound like they could be buff but a dispelling chigoe would rape them because you set it up like a mimic.

Maybe keep all that you have but try for endispel on it instead of some stuff. That way you can combat another pure defensive type setup.

I bet a tough Earth Elemental could be a nice counter for enpetrify whores.

I've got it to lvl 40 now.

there is a mimic in Diablo thats won 100 now. I can get a draw with him consistantly... but i can't even break his stoneskin.


i'm thinkin' about droppin' phalanx for endispel, and then adding instant aquaveil too, to stop my cures from getting interupted.



Another note:

If i give the "think think again" command and then choose "back off" it will spam blink and stoneskin.

I'm having trouble getting it to do anything on its own tho. If i don't give it any commands it just spams Banish II and Dia.

Also can someone tell me how often endispel kicks in when its leveled to 50?

Dark elemental champion on Lakshmi

It is casting Stun in the right places and uses regular attacks along with occasional drain. I'm assuming it's level 50, will check once it's my turn with my little lvl 15 chigoe (lvling it up). It seems really good. It never takes damage from the pets and it has Ice Spikes too. Very interseting. I may need to try an Elemental after I finish my Chigoe.

edit: It also uses Sleep for criticals. Damn this pet is nice. I wish I knew how these crazy JPs leveled their pets so damn fast... I bet they convince their JP friends to take the champion down and let their pet get free exp by continuously doing matches.

The Light will have more trouble because it's a WHM, Dark might be DRK but the others will all be BLM.
JPs actually seem to level a mimic or chigoe and use it to knock out strong champs, then withdraw and put their weaker one in. It doesn't last very long usually, so I don't see the point personally but maybe overall it's just less annoying than waiting 2 NPC fights out every time for something that might beat you especially if you've got a mage type. And of course they leave the mimic in as much as they have the time to during NA time-.-

We just need to level our own uber pets and put them up for them to beat and show them who's boss. But knowing them they probably have a few pets or call one of their friends with a suitable pet to beat yours in the champ slot. I log on late at night occasionally and the timer is around 9-12 minutes. It's funny, it's always 3 in NA time but JP time those JPs turn out, albeit not a ton of them but still surprising that they love it so much.

They all have nearly identical Mimics except for the one random BLM, all named ___Engel... it's sooo obnoxious.

The only thing MAB will help on a dark elemental is the initial damage of Bio.

Try Dark Magic bonus instead, it will greatly enhance your Drains

Changed my WHM Light Elemental Around its working great.

It starts every fight with 2x Banishga II (i'm hoping Holy @ 50)
then it casts Shell II, Pro II and Aquaveil.
then it gets defensive and cure IV's itself if they break stoneskin.

just wish it wouldn't use Cure IV to heal 50 hp

Well i won 14 in a row got my monster to lvl 49 with lvl 9 dispelling and lvl 6 divine so those have a long ways to go. But a BLM came along and used freeze and 1 shotted me.
