    Freaky Co-workers

So here's the deal, I have these 2 guys that I work with that constantly talk about guns and stocking up on ammo. They've been talking about this stuff ever since I've been here (about 4 years), but recently (within the past year) they're conversations have become more and more freaky.

I've had one of them tell me his detailed plan as to exactly how he'd go about shooting up the office if he felt so inclined, how he'd block off the entrances and such, even telling me the path he'd take through the office and who he'd kill first (the owner of course).

The past few weeks they've been talking about how they're waiting on a text message and when they get it, everyone will be sorry. They always talk about how much fun it would be to just start lobbing hand grenades in public places, like I said, these guys are freaky, and definitely the type that could pretty much snap at any time. Most of the time they pass it off as joking around, but there's a part of me that feels that they really are planning something, either to shoot up work, or some sort of government building, they're both extreme racists and anti-government, so they're having a party right now.

Here's my question, what the hell would you do about it?

Thought this thread was gonna be about fucking your co-workers. Report it if you can. Even better if the hotline you have to do this is anonymous

I work for a small company (about 15 office employees). So there's no anonymous way to report, they would definitely know who it was if I reported them.

Has anyone else witnessed these conversations at your workplace?

You may want to contact the local authorities

Not really, I happen to work right next to one of them in the back corner of a little room, just me and that one guy, so I'm pretty much the only one who hears what they talk about. Sometimes they talk at the other guy's desk which is more out in the open, but that's usually when everyone's at lunch. Our secretary heard them talking once and she freaked out and yelled at them haha. They just thought it was funny, and probably bumped her to the top of the list lol.

Well, I had thought about that but here's the problem:

    1. They technically haven't done anything illegal.

    2. They would instantly know who tipped off the authorities and one of them knows where I live.

I've actually been considering just finding a new job since the company I work for sucks anyway, but yeah, no way to find a job in my field right now.

Get them before they get you, etc.
In all seriousness I'd speak to the authorities, see what they could do about it. If it's making you that uneasy that would probably be the best thing to do.
EDIT: posted as I did, lol. If I'm not mistaken I had a cousin who went through this kind of thing, I haven't heard from him in a long time though. I can't remember what he did or how the problem was solved, though. :\

There's no guarantee that they would spare you, call it in.

Call the feds dude, don't you guys have like a hotline for reporting suspicious activities over there? Worse comes to worse just call the cops from a pay phone and refuse to give them your name.

Fuck Obama, if I was him I'd be more worried about one of these crazy fucks having a bad day and killing everyone I worked with.

Exactly, they're pretty much one really bad day away from a shooting spree. At least that's what they say anyway, it's so hard to tell if they're serious or not. If they weren't both complete losers in life I'd be more inclined to say they were joking. But one is 50+ and still lives with his mom, the other one's wife left him, his son's in jail for drug trafficking and armed robbery, and his 16 year old daughter is living with her 28 year old boyfriend, lol.

    ...............

Talking about "lobbing hand grenades in a federal building" is a federal offense...........

So yes, they have done something illegal.

hmm..... tough situation here, because they know who would say something...and know where you live. So, 2 options you have would be....

contact the feds, explain to them your concern about your safety...... i'm hoping they would more so watch these 2 individuals, instead of busting into your office and take them away for questioning.

    second option....

    Get your FID, carry glock.

Time to buy yourself a bulletproof vest.

I joke with them about how I'm going to wear a bulletproof vest into work. One thing I have done, I have a rather nice weapon within reach under my desk if I need it, it's a 2lb piece of solid steel bar that's about 3 feet long, and would do some serious damage. Although it can't stop bullets so yeah.

I've been considering calling in an anonymous tip to the feds about this, my guess is that they would just monitor them, do some background checks and such. I know for a fact that if one of them lost their job, they would most definitely make it their mission to harm as many people as possible....bleh, I hate this crap, why can't people just be rational.

Make friends with them and try to take them down from the inside. It's the only way!

    This.

I'd also joke about your escape plan when they go postal, and how you would suck their dicks to save your life.
