    HDD problem

I recently bought this HDD from newegg to unload many of my files onto (I've had to do a major slim down of my 60gb in the past and I'm still 5gb away from being full).

After connecting it, I came to a few road blocks. Right now the computer seems to realize the drive is there (different system analysis programs bring up 2 drives and the correct model number), but it hasn't created a new icon for it. I've set up the jumpers correctly (they even worked in different combinations), but I still can't find a way to put new files on the new HDD.

I went to windows' compatability list and didn't see it there, but how would it be able to know its number AND capacity it if it wasn't able to communicate with it?

Right Click "My Computer" goto Manage, select Disk Management under Storage.
Find new drive, and format it.

Just wanna add that before yo ucan format it, go to where seph said, but sometimes windows will not recongnize it full HDD.

Aka your gonna have to right click the disk and click connect first, (that happens sometimes) before you can format the first time

Just to add, incase you were unsure, format it as NTFS.
