    Any thoughts on this company?

    Greetings,

A friend of mine just ordered a PC from CyberPower Inc. - UNLEASH THE POWER - Create the Custom Gaming PC and Laptop Computer of your dreams. Ive built my last 2 PCs but Ive been thinking about having someone else do the work for me if the price is right (usually cheaper to build your own I know). So I dont want to go to an overpriced company, however I dont want a company that is so cheap its machines show off that aspect. If no one has any comments on the above site, what are some reccomendations for companies that build a machine for you w/o costing an arm and a leg? Thank you for your time.

I bought a PC from them a long while ago. Their tech support was actually pretty good the one time I had to use it. Other than that, not much I can say besides the PC worked fine after unpacking and setting it up.

Newegg sells some of their PCs that I was looking at last night. There were a few bad reviews but there were good ones too. Can anyone say what kind of prices one would save if they built their own compared to buying one of these models?

I'm trying to find it but unable to locate at the moment but there's a blog post somewhere about their terrible customer service/build. However, it was back in 2006 I believe. However, that was only 1 negative thing I've read about the,. I'm sure they've improved now as the regular PC Mag I read in the UK always has a review on their system every other month and they never mention anything negative customer service/build wise.

I have a cyberpower computer that I bought about 4 months ago. Only two really minor issues, one of which was my fault.

    1. If you do a custom build and a part won't work with what you chose, it holds it up till you contact the person. I wanted a digital temperture gauge on my case, but the case I chose didn't have a proper mounting place for it.

    2. I didn't research my case enough to know that it's 100% tool less, and getting a hdd mounted using those stupid red clips where you got to squeze a damn peg in a hole then turn so it locks the drive properly is a bitch and a half.

Other then those two minor issues, been a rock solid computer for me, and honestly not a bad deal I got on it. Was only about 200 dollars more vs building it myself, but saved me a ton of time and they actually did a good job with the cable management.

Cyberpower is a reputable brand, they make quality parts and decent computers. Sure, they have negative customer reviews like any other, but they are a good company. They're more known for their power supples and computer cases, but you'd assume that would translate to solid computer building.

Nice, thanks for the input everyone. I dunno why I am getting lazier as I get older >.>; I remember eagerly awaiting computer parts last time I built my rig, but now I just want it to arrive ready to go, heh. I'll do a little more research on my own too, but this is great info/comments to let me know I'm not wasting my time.

Oh yeah just a thought before buying/building...

Intel's new i5 and i3 processors will be hitting the market in about a month. These are the new processor lines replacing the Celeron, Pentium Dual-Core and Core 2 Duo, and are built around a different socket design (LGA 1156) and chipset (P55). If you're looking at a new budget gaming computer in the near future, I recommend waiting a little while and going with the newer technology. This'll give you a better path at upgrading for the future.

I believe those use the same socket as the already exsisting I7.

I've got some time to spare. I'm building a new machine with SC2, D3 and FFXIV in mind.

I own a Cyberpower PC and have had it for over a year now. They Customer Support is very good and I haven't had any troubles from the PC. The components were as I specified and the price I got my PC for was very fair at the time of purchase. If I were in the market for a new PC for gaming, I'd definitely consider them again.
