    Using TV as a monitor.

So Im trying to make my home theater a little more customized. Right now Im trying to connect my desktop to my TV. My connection right now is:

Video card > DVI cord > DVI-HDMI adapter > TV through HDMI input.

Now this works just fine the problem is my TV is 1080p and my monitor only goes up to 900p. In order to sync them I have to use the 'duplicate these displays' option under the multiple displays option. Now what problem this creates is my TV display is downscaled to 900p as well where I would like it at its 1080p display. Any chance there is a way to keep my monitor as 900p and my TV at 1080p.

That's nvidia right? You should have the DualView option somewhere in the nvidia panel showing up (try rebooting if not), that's exactly what you're looking for.

While that does work Shaddix; in order to say watch a movie on my TV I would have to drag it off of my monitor so It would be viewable only on my TV and not my monitor. I was hoping I could full screen it on both at different resolutions at the same time for more convenience to me.

Confused a bit by that. Why would you need it on both displays at the same time and at two different resolutions?

He is duplicating them, but because his monitor only does 900p, when duplicated the TV does 900p also, but he wants it to display at 1080p. I think.

I think he meant, why would you need 2 duplicate displays while watching a movie? If it's just laziness that you don't want to drag it, if you're using win7, hitting the win-key+shift+right (or left depending on your setup) it'll shift your active window to the next monitor.

I'm confused why you would want it to be fullscreen on both at the same time

Duplicated displays have to have identical resolutions. So you have to choose between 900p on both, or just watch the movie in 1080p on the TV. I do the TV setup as a second independent monitor in my living room and just drag the window over to the TV when my roommates want to watch something. The TV table is right beside the desk with my monitors on it.
