Playstation Home Beta Impressions

The Beta is about a 10 minute download and it requiers 3077MB of space reserved on the system.

Customizing your character is pretty interesting, you change everything from skull height to eye wrinkles with varying degrees of intensity. Havent tried chatting with people yet, just thought i'd start a topic for some first impressions of it.

How did you guys get into this? Is it an open beta or invite only?

Reminds me of a ps3 Second Life, but its looks pretty lush for the most part

Home kinda took me as a ploy to make money off advertisement and DLC, but im open to see what it has to offer, no beta for me yet.

Select PSN members are getting invites.

Downloading it now. I find it odd that when i entered my code, it took me to the Download page, and under PLAYSTATION Home Beta it says "Sony Computer Entertainment Europe"

The email i got came from Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Either way, installing now.

Ran around a bit, and i even created a Clubhouse! Club BG FTW. I haven't decorated it yet, but if anyone is in the Beta and wants to check it out let me know =P I was bored. Gonna check out the thing that starts in a few mins.

I'm shocked, I actually got an invite was never really interested in Home, but downloading now.
Edit: 77MB and only took a minute it's smaller than I expected.
Oh, I thought you meant the download was 3Gigs, didn't know about the other instal when you start it up.

And each area (Mall, Central Square, Movie Theatre, Bowling Alley) is anywhere from 9MB to 28MBs.

Downloaded it and made myself. Looks pretty damn close to me, but lacks the sexy and english laundry clothing.

I got in. Been looking forward to this for a while. So far its pretty cool. Bowling alley is probably the cooler place to be hang out in with the games and all. Anyone unlock any new items or anything? I got a couple things, like the bubble machine and a couple of wardrobe items, from a game of echocrome in the bowling alley. Just wondering if there are more things to unlock.

As an update to the PLAYSTATION(R)3 News email sent on Friday,
October 24th, the special invitation to PlayStation(R)Home's closed
beta is available only to Qore annual subscribers who purchased
subscriptions by 10/29. Qore Episode 06 purchasers will not be
eligible for the special PlayStation(R)Home beta invitation at
this time. We apologize for the miscommunication.

Participation in PlayStation(R)Home's closed beta is limited to
those 18 years and older and requires agreement with the
PlayStation(R)Home Beta Trial.

I gave up trying to make it look exactly like me, it's just too much work heh. I made it remotely similar.

Ive been in the home beta for over a year now, ever since the private beta.

I log into it maybe twice a month to check out new things, but other than that..................... I see no purpose behind it, and all I see if 4 gigs of wasted HDD space.
