    Problem playing videos

Ok BG, so I'll admit I'm not the most technologically/computer savy guy around, so this could be something stupid (and I hope it is). So lately I've been losing my internet connection any time I try to play a video from a website (megavideo, youtube, etc). The video will load partially, then I lose my connection completely including any other site I'm on in a different tab as well. It also happens if I try to play a video linked in the random youtube video thread or a facebook linked video. If I close the page the video is playing on the connection immediately comes back.

I'm using the latest version of firefox and flash player. Any scans for a virus or malware came up clean.

Halp me BG, I'm in dire need to catch up on Dexter and Boardwalk Empire.

You can try simple fixes like check if they work in another browser (chrome), or it could be your router is getting old and ready to give out.

Thanks for the advice. I tried in Firefox, Chrome, and IE and I still run into the same problem. I tried moving my computer and hooking it up directly to the modem and had no problems playing videos, so I'm pretty sure it's not my computer. My buddy had a new wireless card that he wasn't using so I swapped that in and I started running into the same problems, so I guess it has to be the router. Guess I'll look into buying a new one shortly.

It might be related to the MTU on your computer or router but no idea to what value it should be changed to.

Ok now I'm really stumped. I hadn't played my PS3 on line in a while, but since I just got CoD: Black Ops I figured I'd try the new zombie mode. Now my PS3 goes through the same router my computer does, and it's working flawlessly. I haven't gotten kicked or lost signal all day. Videos on the computer still don't work, and now the internet has started to act more spotty (getting no response from web sites for a few minutes at a time, but still showing full signal strength and connection to my router).
