Too good to be true? This has just popped up this morning, and it really does seem too good to be true, and probably fake.

What it does is let you run games off of your internal harddrive, or off of an external one. Really looking forward to seeing what happens int he next few days.

1. FAT32 is currently supported. They are working on NTFS.

2. They recommend staying on current firmware and not updating until they have deemed it safe. The dongle is fully updatable.

3. Online play does work but they cannot guarantee that it will work with all future titles.

4. Final retail units are ready to ship.

5. Official reseller list will be on their site in the next 48 hours. You can pre-order from any of the official resellers. There are websites out there now claiming to be selling but they are not legitimate. Don't get ripped off. Wait until the official list is posted.

I saw this earlier and decided not to make a topic about it.

From reading 4chan /v/ (the only source of information), they figured out that it was a debugged PS3 and that the USB drive was just a dongle with the files on it and nothing more, nothing special just spray painted all nice.

Expect the files to be released at the end of the month.

Pretty funny, a friend of mine and I had a conversation about whether we would mod our PS3s when something for it finally came out, and typically my stance is I don't mod current-gen consoles... but now with this, I'm suddenly feeling very interested. <_<

It puts the unit in to debug mode apparently. There is an actual USB key from Sony that does this (obviously not available to public), this seems to have stolen the code and altered it and is now selling it at a huge price to make some profit before it gets copied/leaked to the net.

Actually I think it may have been $170 AUD or something, so it may be lower in USD. I dunno, like others said, wait a few weeks, let people get it and see wtf it is, if it's some sort of hardware, wait for cheap copies, if it's just software, you might even be able to do it yourself.
