Adobe programs as examples. They are over priced and even more then that is that you have to buy a new one or ship it back to them to upgrade them.

I just get tired of apple fanboys walking up to me when i'm on my lap top at the diner and they try to tell me how much pc's suck comapred to apple. They are expennsive pecies of crap that will die out so you then have to buy another peice of crap that will die out in two more years.

Sadly most of apples recent succes with the computer market is due to there Ipod. They sell the ipod to the ten year old kid so when they see a computer made from apple then they just sucked some one else in to there art-fag life style.

I don't know of a single TV show or feature that is cut on Premiere. Avid is still by far the most utilized system (PC or Mac based) but Final Cut Studio is the best all-inclusive option for prosumer home use. The show I just finished on was on Avid, but most of the shows at that production company were on Final Cut.

I've learned over the years to never throw my hat into these kind of things, but I do have a minor insight. Some people hate (for no reason), some people have legitimate reasons to dislike, some people love, some people love for no reason other than to make my life hell (unfortunately, I run into these kinds more often than not).

I'm an IT guy, I deal with Windows all day. I've been a Mac guy since before the iPod came and transformed Apple Computer into Apple. Shit is situational. Saying Macs are only used by artsy types is like saying PCs are only for games- there is a large overlap.

I like them. They work for me. They let me tinker in UNIX-ey things before I could handle it cold. I ignore the raving fanatics on both sides, neither are correct.

And nowadays, it's not like they are outrageously overpriced. That fact may be hotly contested, and Apple does not have a bottom barrell option, but still- they remain competitive. They just posted an amazing quarter for computer hardware, not just iPods and the store.

I've used the same mac laptop for the last 4 years to run my graphic design business. I've replaced 1 HD, and 2 power adapters. That's all. The only complaint I have really is how Apple monopolizes their parts and basically force you to take it in to an Apple dealer or shop to get it fixed at ungodly service rates. $90/hr for labor and $45 up front just for diagnostics, plus the cost of parts if you need any repaired. I want to buy a new MacBook Pro but honestly, I'm looking at PCs too just so I can get them worked on much cheaper.
