Test: Campaign Rank Requirement Data Collection

Basically, I'd like to get this figured out, but without the theories or ideas thrown in. This is just for data posts only. There are some simple rules which should be followed in order to see if certain factors are consistent. So if you want to post some data, you are probably going to need to do Campaign battles with this in mind rather than just post things you just remembered.

I'll post my own experiences tomorrow.

EDIT: You can count "date" in both real life dates or simply as Day 1-2-3-etc. Obviously you cannot get your evaluation until Day 5, but you will still be able to do Campaign. Another thing... if you do this, it might be a good idea to count using the evaluation timer if possible.

EDIT 2: VERY IMPORTANT! Mark down between Campaigns when you reach the "keep medal" stage if you can. I get the feeling this will become very important in figuring out the puzzle.

This is pretty much what it took me for this rank as well, but I also did 5200 worth of OPs first. I also had my medal for 22 days because I was on vacation. I may have been able to rank up at 8k AN, but I went right from 7200~>9100~. My friend on the same rank, having the medal for only 5 days and doing no OPs, ranked up after breaking 9k AN as well. XP was closer to 18k for both of us though, as we almost got two merits each.

Still not even Satisfactory level, and I have almost 15k points total. I can't understand why OPs are having such a small effect. I am going to bring my mule over sometime soon and begin testing rank 1>2 based solely on ops. Would be nice to compare this to some other tests of the same rank.

They had 17409 total points, I have 15203. I doubt that the difference between unsatisfactory and rank up lies within 2200 points, but I could be wrong. I will try another op tomorrow and then some campaign if I have time.

You aren't doing any campaigns previous to Day 5 right? Because that's what it sounds like.

Everything I did in my last test I started on Day 5. I will do the same this time. I think I might let myself rank down and do some tests with this rank for a bit to get some concrete results. Here's my plan for next time:
Day 5 hits, do campaigns until I can rank up. I won't rank up yet though.
Day 6, see if I can still rank up.
Day 7, see if I can still rank up.
Day 8, see if I can still rank up.
Day 9, see if I can still rank up.

This would test to see if the points deteriorate/the requirement increases. I can plan my next test based on the results of this one.

Last rankup to Copper Emblem was 7 days ago, 1 week. I did not do any campaign/OP's whatsoever.

I am set to Limit point mode, so I started at around 80XX/10000 merit points

Only Campaign battle. Okay, day 2 test coming. I made a big mistake on not checking if I ranked up on the 4th campaign and when I checked after the 5th... I had ranked up. So fuck. The test is viable I guess.

I attempted to rank up to Mythril Star as soon as I could (@4965 exp/3806 AN), but I was not allowed to. I chose to continue my evaluation, and did the Streetsweeper II op, which brought my totals to just over 5k exp and 4k AN; I still was not allowed to rank up. I then went and did the last three campaign battles listed, and was then allowed to rank up.

I didn't do a very fine-grained test, but I'll submit what I have.

Iron Emblem -> Steel Knight

I did enough Campaign Battles & OPs to get a neutral evaluation on day 5 or 6 when I first checked. Let's call it day 5, since for purposes of this test it doesn't matter. The next day I rechecked before doing any Campaign and was set to be demoted. This comfirms that you either lose evaluation points or else there is a per diem requirement just to maintain your current evaluation. I did an OP and two battles, but not enough to get a promotion, instead, back to neutral. The next day I started out neutral and again did one OP and two battles. Enough to get promoted. Breaking it down:

Day 5: Keep

Day 6: Demote

CB - 1460 xp (Keep)
CB - 880 xp (Keep)
CO - 290 xp (Keep)

Day 7: Keep

CO - 290 xp (Keep)
CB - 1095 xp (Keep)
CB - 855 xp (Promote)

In hindsight, I should have done my OP first on day 6 before the battles, to at least see if the per diem requirement is > or < 290 xp. I think BRP already checked this for the Star ranks, but I imagine it's different for the different rank categories, if not for each individual rank. I didn't keep track of AN, though I believe it was only my last CB that didn't have XP = 2*AN.

Conclusion: Assume only XP earned in Campaign is factored into rank promotion evaluations, and that the XP required to rank up is given by a formula like:

XP = A + B + C*number_of_days

A = the amount of XP needed to get from the default "Demotion" message to "Keep" status.
B = the amount of XP needed to get from "Keep" status to "Promotion".
C = an amount of XP required per day just to maintain your current evaluation.

Then for Emblem II -> Emblem III, 2555 < B + C < 4870.

I'll try to keep a record for next promotion, but I can't promise I'll do much better.
