Question regarding re-questing AF.

I know you have to drop some pieces of your AF and clear your memory before you can flag it again, but do you have to drop the coffer pieces too?

Only the Borghertz coffer piece. The other two coffer pieces you have to open on your AF job do not need to be dropped.

You don't have to drop anything until the point where the game tries to give you something and fails because you already have it and it's Rare. Which means at most you need to drop AF1 weapon and AF2 to access AF3 quest. Note that need to have gotten all your AF (even if you don't have it anymore) before you can clear your memory.

You certainly don't need to drop the hands piece.
