Hi all. I don't want to cause any trouble.. I simply want to pass a message along. So if you are anti competitive smash, then please just save yourself the trouble of telling me I'm playing the game wrong and like.. leave and stuff.
---------
So, I've noticed that some people here play smash bros somewhat competitively, and I want to inform you guys about a project called Brawl+. Basically, the goal of the project is to bring back elements that were in the previous two smash bros game back into Brawl (this does NOT include wavedashing, and never will despite a wavedashing hack being available). Anyone who's been following competitive Brawl (and has played Melee and Smash64) knows very well how much of the core features that were in the previous two smash bros were simply removed. The ability to combo is extremely limited and as a result many characters simply cannot compete. Heavy characters with laggy aerials have a hard time approaching, and characters like Metaknight, Falco and Snake destroy everyone else because they can camp all day, or have an offensive game that no other character can match. Tourney matches have degenerated into camp fests and people only play the game to 'win' and not for fun anymore.. It's really quite upsetting.
Btw, If you guys like how Brawl is, that is 100% cool. Simply leave the thread or tell me why you think this project is an abomination. I will be more than happy to give you my opinion.
Anywho, I have brought what I hope some of you will believe is the answer: Brawl+.
Using a soft modded wii, one can get access to hacks that can do things from removing tripping and adding safer approaches for heavy characters such as Ike and Ganon, making captain falcon beastly as hell.. among other things. The project is pretty far along, and everyone who has played it enjoys it immensely, or at least more than regular Brawl. The matches are fast paced, intense and a ton of fun. It doesn't feel like melee, it doesn't feel like smash64.. it feels like a fast paced, action packed Brawl. The Brawl, many of us believe, should've been.
Before you guys dismiss the project, please just check out the thread I posted on smashboards. (lolsmashboards) What we've been able to accomplish, I personally think, is awesome, and I really want others to at least know about it, and know that there's an alternative to the slow paced game that we are familiar with.

If you ARE interested, I am willing to answer any questions you guys have. I really just want people to know about it. I'm not asking anyone to play it, just to look at what we've been able to accomplish.
