If any other details are need just reply not to sure what all to post on this lol. Looking for a good one for Aion/FFXI/porn

For MMORPGs it's all about macros. Macros macros macros.... the more programmable keys you have the better. Everyone has their own personal favourite way of moving their character around, be it keyboard, gamepad or whatever. I personally use a PS2 gamepad.

Can back up G-15. Had it for a year and worked fine until it kind of just died. Keys stopped working and I didn't feel like fixing it since I didn't need the G keys anymore.

But get the G-11 instead. It's like the first gen G-15 but with no LCD. I've heard the new orange G-15 isn't built as well as the first gen was. Plus less G keys I think?

I have a g15. I find it a bit too big and I dont like the 'clicky clacky' noises that the keyboard makes. I hardly use the programable18 G buttons, and I find the LCD a bit of a gimmick. Only bought it for the LED backlight which I like in the dark. Though I can say that this thing is a beast, it has been working perfectly for three years or so. The next keyboard I would get would be just a standard 'mooshy' feel one.

Another shout for the Mk1 G-15 keyboard. BLUE LIGHT ALL THE WAY SON NONE OF THAT ORANGE SHIT ROUND HURR. Seriously though, my G-15 is by far the best keyboard I've ever owned, and if this one ever breaks then I'm going to be getting another one.

I love my G15, had a first gen with the blue, now have the orange.

Only have 1 problem ever with it, I use a Gkey for PTT in vent and sometimes with I'm say, on a game and holding down the gkey, and click on another window, say firefox, it releases the PTT and the key needs to be pressed back down.

Kinda annoying and persistent profile isn't fixing it. Other than that minor problem, best keyboard ive ever owned.

The blue G-15s (the good ones) have been discontinued by Logitech. The G11 is more or less the same as the older, better G15 but without the LCD screen... I've been using it for about two years now and love it. Fuck that orange noise, blue is where it's at.

Also, Boyiee, do you have Vent's hotkey tied directly to a G key or some other combination? I couldn't get it to register as a G key so it's as a CTRL+Shift instead. Being able to fix this so it doesn't hide my menus whenever I'm talking on vent would be awesome.

My PTT is Insert, and on my gkey closest to my pinky. If I hold down insert itself, and change windows, it stays down. But if I use the Gkey, and change windows, sometimes it will cut out and require me to repush it. Persistent profile is supposed to fix that, but it does nothing. Something about one application being used, and switching applications disables the gkey. It really only bothers me when I'm talking in wow and go to the other monitor to continue the conversation while looking it up in firefox, or typing on xfire... annoying nonetheless.

I've always found that a PTT button on my mouse is a lot easier to use than putting it on my keyboard.

I want a g13 so bad cause it just looks so awesome. I don't know how much I'd use it though playing mainly wow and cod4... although I do play cod on a team and we used to be sponsored, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad.

My current mouse is a G5 1st gen, and I use the thumb button for wow abilities so I don't know where I'd put a PTT... I dont like pressing the scroll/middle click they are mostly unbound (except for swapping weapons in cod).

Having the PTT Gkey on my left pinky (considering hand sits at wsad area) is pretty efficient for me.

were you being sarcastic about the G13 or is it really that awesome? It looks like a toy to buy just to spend money on something, which is why I never got one or looked at it too hard.

I don't see why not. If it doesn't recognize a game, then you just change the default (I did that for sims3), and it'll work just fine.

I use it for wow and it's so much easier for macros.

This basically gives me 3 lines of macros (1-=, alt+ 1-=, and crl+ 1-=), then enough to put random shit on the sides (jump, tab, pet attack etc.).

I admit, at first it took a lot of getting used to, and tweaking the button positions. But now I only use the keyboard for typing, and the gamepad for everything else. It's way more comfortable, and I feel easier to use than running your hands around a keyboard (and having your right hand switch between a mouse and keyboard constantly).

I've become so addicted to it, any game I play I have to use it, no matter how simple or complex.

[edit] and ya I have the g15 too (<-loaded girl gamer), out of the two though the g13 has way more functionality than the g15.

the joystick is wasd, it says walk forward, walk back, etc. because WoW has preformed macros you can select. I could easily put them as "w" "a" n' so forth and it'd do the same thing.

And no, I never move either hand to the keyboard unless it's to type in guild/say/etc.


Oh ya just for comfort if you're gonna buy one, since having three things in a line gets really long, I put the mouse and gamepad on the keyboard tray, so I can place them the distance I want. And I put the keyboard on the teir above. Dunno what your comp desk looks like, but you might wanna try it.

G15 v1 has more keys but doesnt fit a regular keyboard pullout shelf, G15 v2 has less. it has less,

also supposedly theres a version with blue lighting, which is what im after.


also G19 is out, no huge difference. a colour LCD and a $199.99 USD price tag.

i actually dont know the point of backlit keys. there is no time during a game where you're going to be looking at a keyboard. just for looks i guess.

Backlit keys are awesome, they don't need to contribute to functionality.

the g13 is pretty awesome. have been considering picking one up for some time now but first i have to decide what game i want to play...
