    Restless Leg Syndrome

Anybody (else) have this? I was randomly trolling Wiki for various disorders/syndromes(I do this from time to time, don't ask), and came across a page for RLS, which I had no idea existed. I've had the symptoms of this disorder for as long as I can remember, but never actually considered the fact that it might have a name.

    Just curious, etc.

Edit: Well fuck me, diphenhydramine is a key ingredient in Benadryl, which is known to worsen/trigger RLS symptoms. Ten years later, I realize why Benadryl makes me feel like I'm having a really bad acid trip.

I suppose I might have this? I know when I play MMOs a lot or even when I'm talking on the phone my left leg tends to shake crazily. I'm not too active so I usually just view it as a means to relieve build-up energy. I know when I pvp my leg shakes like insanity.

RLS isn't involuntary shaking, though, its the uncontrollable need to move some part of your body(usually legs, apparently). I've tried to explain the sensation to plenty of people at various times in my life, but the feeling of discomfort is truly indescribable.

Is this really a syndrome? Holy shit >_> I've always wondered why I can't keep my left leg from shaking... I mean I can make it stop but as soon as I forget about it it starts again.

Only happens when I'm sitting though. I've also seen lots of people do it so I thought it was 'normal' >_>.

Meditation might help, it tends to help a lot of stuff.

Also, inb4 if the leg had a gun, you're dying, etc

Read my reply. Every website with information on it says its not characterized by involuntary movement, rather the pathological need when its triggered to move.

I got the same quirk, granted if I'm already sitting down (as is the case when I'm at my PC with my cellphone handy) I usually just keep where I was.

wow.. so I guess every male in my family has it, kinda funny poor sobs cant keep their legs still, and here I thought it was because they were so eager to gtfo at family reunions, or wanted to get up and do something other then watch football or fight or something.

I do this all the time too >_> Can't stay still. I doubt it's related to this syndrome though if it actually makes you feel unpleasant if you don't do it, that's not a problem for me.

I knew this was a disorder because I stay up late at night when they show all those med commercials, but after reading up on it, it does look interesting. My arms get this kind of itching/tickling sensation sometimes. It's usually when I am late taking my meds or if I don't take them at all. I am going to ask my doctor if RLS could be a symptom. I didn't know it could occur in other parts of the body besides the legs.

RLS is a side effect of Anemia, make sure your doctor gets a blood test for your blood iron levels before prescribing you anything.

    If you do have it...sux2bu.

Btw, the medicine they give for it (ropinirole), is far far far worse than the disease, like don't even bother, it's not worth it, and I didn't even have any side effects...it just makes you feel fucking WEIRD, like you're half-tripping.... 24/7.

It will stop the urges though...

It'd be less hilarious if people were actually reading what it was, instead of saying, "omg sometimes when im bored i get bored and want to get up! i have this!"

This reminds me of Shift Worker Syndrome.

"Do you work shift work, and feel tired all the time? Then you may have this" No shit, me and everyone else that has ever worked shift work feels tired all the time, its not a damn affliction its normal.

    No no, you're hilarious too.

"Restless leg syndrome" is only a disease because someone invented a drug and needed to classify some vaguely worded minor discomfort as a disease they could approve the drug to treat.

Although if you got minor anemia, Iron supplements will help, but if you got it bad... well... sux2bu?

I suffer from Extreme Anal Doody Syndrome (EADS). The pooping is sometimes too much to bear.

edit: I also suffer from CPPA (Complex Partial Penis Addiction)
