Wiki Update Thread, Help wanted Apply within...

Yeah big update, and lots of new things, so on that note. If you have some free time as SE extends maintence for the fucking 82nd time you could help start building the knowledge base for alot of the new gear.

I'm using this site : http://www.downrightfiercels.org/patches/items/ As my main source, as it's beautifully done, and easy to navigate. Much love goes to DRF's layout/design, thanks guys for making it easy to make things easy ^^

If you could take a section of the armor and post here which one your working on, that way we don't waste our energy repeating each others work!

I was debating whether to ninja edit the link in the OP to point to the wiki, instead of otherwiki.

If you're going to bother updating large volumes of information, may as well be BGwiki. This isn't really the place to advertise for fraudwiki, especially when asking for BG's help.

I have done a huge amount of editing on the BG wiki, but even I think it is time to give up the ghost on the whole "otherwiki" thing.

That drama is so old. The fact that a person can post this thread in all seriousness, without knowing the drama history proves it's time to put a fork in the whole thing.

I agree with you to a point, however I dont consider misleading people to take thousands of dollars in donations with the intent to sell and profit off of something "drama".

Sorry Otherwiki is the anti-christ, just because people are either too stupid or too new to remember the drama doesn't make it okay. It's like saying let's forget Hitler killed the jews because some people don't know about it or weren't around when it happened. Except in this case, it was worse than Hitler killing the jews.

I agree, why update something that barely anybody uses? I mean sure they are assholes but it doesn't take away from the fact that ffxiclopedo is a central place of information for tons of people.

I don't know if it's just me but, BG wiki seems like barely anyone updates it and ffxi wiki seems to have more information on it.

How many updates have you made to the BG wiki, by the way?

I don't know if it's just me but, BG wiki seems like barely anyone updates it and ffxi wiki seems to have more information on it.

Ultimately, I am a pragmatist. It would be nice to have two thriving wiki's, but that is not the case now. I understand why Sonomaa has his objections, but I never donated to the otherwiki, half the people that complain about the otherwiki are just doing it to get cool points on BG and don't even know what happened, and it's not like BG's hands were clean in the whole affair either.

Was the otherwiki affair uncool? Definitely. Am I still going to be upset about it 4 years later? It bugs me, but it's done and over with. That is just my opinion.

The worst part about the whole situation was that instead of having one fairly accurate wiki, we now have one poorly maintained wiki (FFXI wiki) and a wiki nobody cares about (BG wiki.) Is having a sandy vag over something so ancient and petty worth the expense that the division puts on the rest of the FFXI community?
