Saved POL passwords

So basically I had access to my friends old account but then he quit. I helped keep his account alive for a while after that but eventually cancelled his content ID.

Anyways basically, I want top reactivate it but I lost the password to access the information. To log into the account the password is saved on my computer, so is there any way of retrieving this saved password?


(POL won't let me reset password because I threw out the account information)

If you know the last four of the credit card used, address, name, & birthday registered with the account you can call POL and tell them you lost your POL keys or something.

Not really, as passwords are encrypted in the disk and memory. You would need some major skills to retrieve them.

I had to do this a while back and it only took like 5 minutes for a guy to talk me through it. It required plugging in the location of the password box or something, putting in a known value for that (i.e. a pw you have saved on the comp that you know...if you don't have another account you can just create a fake one so it has a known value to compare to) and then decrypting the unknown password that's saved.

If I'm not mistaken, that was changed not too long ago, there was a pol update that involved just its security measures. You could find the passwords unencrypted in memory while then, making valid a method like the one you explained.
