Would you consider it the norm for a RDM with a dalmatica and duelist's chapeau, to fulltime those in a merit party? Are there any pieces you would wear ahead of those?
Note that I mean in merit pt's exclusively.

If you're main healing and lazy, yeah who cares. You're going to be able to sleep what you need to, missing a few HP off of your Cures isn't a huge issue, if you need a big chunk of -enm your DDs are doing it wrong. You don't really need special swaps to Cure and Haste, and the 2/tick makes you need to rest even less.
If you want to be perfectionist swap Turban/Nashira in for Chapeau/Dalmy in your Haste macros, together with more haste gear in other slots too for best results of course.
Or...your AF1 Chapeau?
Turban on RDM needs to be shot the fuck to death.
And AF2 for body. Should check the wiki statistics on what haste and fast cast percentages those give you sometime, AF +fast cast is much better than your typical +haste gear.
Yeah I was leaving out AF2 body because it's entirely possible for even a Chapeau/Dalmy RDM to not have one, but no excuse for casting in W.Turban. I don't think there's anything wrong with not swapping on Pink Mage in merits aside from the obvious staff swaps when needed, healing as RDM with competent melees is deathly boring and it gets annoying to go all-out on hitting macros when you're only casting 3 of your however many spells.
Yea, sorry lol, was directed at the post above yours. I usually leave half of my gear in my mog house. Rings, some staves, nuking gear, -emnity and my heavy duty mind set stays behind so I don't lose MP when I cast.
Hey don't be so harsh, I'm just suggesting. Only Fast Cast item I have are my Homam legs, whenever I'm plving myself the other account is in whatever haste gear i can put it on ; ;
Even so if there is no FC is some slots, but there is Haste available for those, is it still bad to be on them instead ?
Lol, situational I guess. You don't want to use dusk instead of mp item more than likely in merit as RDM. But you'd use it while tanking or possibly soloing if you really want. But since this is kind of referring to haste cycles, you probably wouldn't add too much in that doesn't have a hefty amount of MP on it to make up for the cast.
For instance, I don't bring nashira seraweels with me to exp as RDM, because I lose a lot of MP when I switch over to them. Of course you could argue that you're typically below your cap anyways, but in an XP party dropping to 750 mp is counterproductive. Usually af1 head + af2 body is all you need for those recasts anyways.
But yea, I think his point was that AF1 head is pretty easy to obtain and way better than walahra turban, but misguided RDM's seem to think it's a good haste item for them.
>RDM
>Turban
No.
head: start and end cast in AF hat, swap to AF2 after
body: start cast in AF2, end in goliard, swap to dalm/morrigan after
Lack of mention of Goliard Saio in this topic disturbs me. Absolutely excellent piece for casting any of those high-cost static-potency spells that are essentially the reason for your existence in merit parties, as well as Cures (your other purpose). I know a few people with Goliard Saio, and it baffles me that some of them seem to prefer an extra 1MP from Auto-Refresh during the course of a Haste cast over an extra 5% chance to make massive savings on spell cost, especially considering the Conserve MP on Saio can be stacked with items such as Seveneyes, Cobra gear and (if you have it) Magnetic Earring for up to 27% Conserve MP proc rate without /BLM's native trait.
The best part? These items also have a fair amount of MP and HP on them, so unless you full-time full Zenith in merit parties or something swapping them in shouldn't cause problems in the MP department. In addition to everything mentioned, all these pieces double up as great Convert items, especially Goliard Saio which, as stated, is also fantastic for Cures. In this day and age I just find it mindboggling that people still believe 1 tick of Refresh to be infinitely superior to any other stat at almost any time.
Maybe I have a poorer PC / run to much shit at once, but with Windower I simply can not pull this off. I'd really like to do things along those lines, but even putting my R.Ring at the top of my windower macro, and L.Ring at the bottom (for example, when i'm using 2 Snow Rings), the changes simply don't happen, it goes too fast, and I have to Ctrl-E > Check my rings to make sure it happens.
I guess simply put, I have something a bit wonky with my Windower macros (I don't use Binds), even when I just tried, most of the time the switches worked, but occasionally some of the swaps do not go through.
just put in /wait's in there, not hard >.>;
and what mrwafflez says. I never do campaign and now I'm forced to due to effing cobra gear ;(
I'd argue conserve mp should be the most important stat to a rdm
I'd just keep the AF2 Hat and Dalmatica on all the time, except for enfeebles, where I'd just swap in AF Body. If you're having MP issues in a merit party with two pieces of refresh gear then your party has some problems. I used to merit in AF body and AF hat, a year ago and never had MP issues.
