Realistically it will be Hillary vs old rich white man #5.

$5 on rich old white man #5. I think there are plenty of people that will vote against Hillary for being a woman and few that will vote for her for it. She knows how the game is played, and perhaps I underestimate the number of women willing to vote their gender anonymously, but I bet not.

I can't image the number of people who would refuse to vote for Hillary based on her gender is higher then the number of people who would refuse to vote for Obama based on his race.

That seems a surprisingly grim prediction considering the Republican party realistically remains a divided mess with social policies proving unpopular with a vast majority of the population.

    I think Biden's a no-go, but hasn't given an official yea/nay.

Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he might challenge Hillary Clinton for the party’s nomination in 2016.
“Yes,” Biden said, laughing, when asked if there’s a chance that he’d challenge Clinton.

“There’s a chance, but I haven’t made my mind up about that, we’ve got a lot of work to do between now and then. There’s plenty of time,” Biden said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

I'd honestly be a bit scared of Jeb, but I highly doubt he'll survive the primaries.

liberals often decry the extremism of the Republican party but moderate establishment figures have dominated the presidential primaries in recent elections. Romney and McCain both won with relative ease, likewise in 2000 the seemingly moderate Bush who ran on education and continually criticized the Clinton administration for nation-building waltzed into the nomination. the crazies are very loud, and very crazy, but their candidates lose. they lose every time.

if Jeb runs into a problem it will be that there are other viable moderates in the room if Romney and Christie both run, which could split the establishment / electable national candidate vote. otherwise i think he's going to obliterate the Jindals and Palins and Rubios and Cruzs of the world.

Here's a link to the story:

The Koch brothers’ operation intends to spend $889 million in the run-up to the 2016 elections — an historic sum that in many ways would mark Charles and David Koch and their fellow conservative mega-donors as more powerful than the official Republican Party.

The figure, which more than doubles the amount spent by the Republican National Committee during the last presidential election cycle, prompted cheers from some in the GOP who are looking for all the help they can get headed into a potentially tough 2016 election landscape.

But while the leaked details seemed in part a show of defiance to Democrats, who had targeted the brothers as bogeymen, the spending goal also appeared to be a show of dominance to rival factions on the right, including the RNC.

A spokesman for the RNC did not respond to a request for comment Monday. Some Republicans, however, quietly grumbled about the continued migration of power and money from the political parties and their candidates to super-rich donors emboldened by recent court decisions loosening campaign finance restrictions.

The budget figure was shared with donors during a Monday morning session at the Koch network’s annual winter donor gathering at the Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage, California, according to an attendee.

Don't put Bobby Jindal out of the running. He's totally going to Perry it at that conservative religious rally.

This is my primary opposition to Hillary. Not age, not gender, but fucking dynasties.

The only bright point if Romney runs again is that this will get another go round.

Bush would actually be a decent (R) ticket. He actually was a GOOD Governor in Florida. He actually opposed his brother on drilling off the coast of FL. He didn't do anything drastic or stupid in the state. That being said, who the fuck knows where the Republicans will land this coming season.

Warren isn't running, she's one of Hillary's biggest supporters. I expect voter turnout to plummet and Hillary winning. I would say things will get worse, with Hillary being a bigger corporatist, war hawk, and etc. but it's hard to imagine what worse even is beyond the usual austerity and job loss. More comfortable white people getting a taste of poverty? The unknown doesn't bother me anymore, it's the new normal.

Report: Koch Brothers-Linked Groups to Spend $900 Million on 2016 Race
n election news, The Washington Post reports a network of conservative advocacy groups backed by the Koch brothers aims to spend a staggering nearly $900 million in advance of the 2016 presidential election. The amount is more than double the $400 million that 17 allied groups in the network raised during the 2012 campaign. Over the weekend, three potential Republican presidential candidates — Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Rand Paul and Sen. Ted Cruz — faced off in what some dubbed the Koch primary, a closed-door gathering organized by the billionaire brothers.
