NIN WS Gear

Looking for some input on this since I started meriting as NIN again recently.

Head: Optical Hat (Meh...waiting on D. Head drop)
Neck: Breeze Gorget
Ear1: Merman's Earring
Ear2: Brutal Earring
Body: Haubergeon
Hands: Ninja Tekko +1 / O. Kote
Rings: Flamex2
Back: Amemet +1
Waist: Warwolf Belt
Legs: Byakko's Haidate
Feet: Fumas...which do nothing really, but I haven't bothered getting anything to replace them yet, thinking of doing Rutters.


The main 2 questions I'm wondering here would be for hands and belt. More STR/DEX, or ATK? Hands is Tekko +1 (STR/DEX +6) VS O. Kote (ATK+20) and belt would be Warwolf (STR/DEX+5) VS Swordbelt +1 (ATK+12). Thanks in advance for any input.

I use and get good millage out of AF+1 Tekko and Warwolf Belt, personally.
Rock out Rutters or Taru RSE for the feet, too. [job capable of healing]+NIN can duo Blaggers fine.

I personally use Ochui Kote + Warwolf, and yeah as Cassiraa said I'd go for Rutters if possible too. Although, if you can get Denali Feet I'd recommend those.

Other than that you're basically set.

For a hume, would the lv62 RSE feet (STR+3 DEX+3 VIT+2 AGI+2 INT-3 MND-3 CHR-3)
or rutters be better for Jin?

I guess it would just come down to 5 attack vs 3DEX?

While I'm sure Rutters will outparse RSE2, I'm sticking with RSE2 until I totally max out my WS build because I don't like losing max HP every time I swap to my WS gear. B. Kote and RSE2 boots make up the HP I lose by swapping out Turban and NIN Chainmail +1.

This has been my ws setup for a long time now, I hardly use nin for anything other than tanking HNM's anymore though.

When I do use it for merits I almost always have 2brd and eat hedgehog pie, hence the O.hat and Potent belt for WS.

I'd also consider a Potent Belt. Nice combination of STR and Acc, very handy if you like XPing at places like Nyzul or have regular access to 2 BRD parties.

In typical parties with sushi, Warwolf is fine, and definitely a lot cheaper.

In an ideal world, you'd want to use O. Kote when Zerk is down, AF+1 when Zerk is up most of the time, but if you're not a hardcore min/max'er either will do just fine, the difference is slight at best. If you're gonna pick one, I'd stick with O. Kote.

I don't think Rutters would be enough better to justify the inventory -1, but that's just me.

How many merits do you have in Katana? I'd personally suggest putting some accuracy into your setup even if you use Sushi.

I use katana's in my nin WS build, they work well.

Okote > Tekko+1, unless you're in a capped/near capped attack situation. Difference has been parsed to be very minimal between the two though, so use what you like.

edit: I also use my katana's for TP gain.

Yes if the drop rate (for us at least) wasnt like 1/20 with TH4. That and rng have priority. I will prob be the first nin who gets it but that wont be for a loooooooooong time.

Ah. Well, good luck with that. Fwiw, SeaShell's records point to a 20% drop rate for all torques but love. Looks like JoL's drops might be 50% each, independent of one another.

What about Warwolf vs Sword+1 for jin?

I'm assuming Warwolf since 90% of the population seem to use that :D

Was actually discussing that not too long ago with a linkshell member and I honestly think Swordbelt+1 might just pull ahead for Jin considering just how much +attack helps Jin. I think both are acceptable and would be nice to see some nice parse results of the two.
