Oblivion with guns, fuck yeah! Picking it up but I can't say that I'm looking forward to it really. I think I'll either love it or hate it.

Despite the perspective, I hope it's actually AP/turn based and it just counts any movement you make against your AP, and that accuracy is based not on how well you aim but on the calculated percentages based on skill/equipment.

I'm not sure I care much for the music, though. It's patriotic, but not something I really want to listen to while I'm playing.

PC Gamer had an exclusive demo preview about 2 months back, and they did a great 10 page article on it.

Essentially you push pause, and take aim shots (eyes, legs, arms, groin) via pip manager thingy, success of which depends on your skills which uses AP, which regenerates, kinda like mana. If you run out of AP, use the cover system and take pot shots real time. Although less effective.

Eh, don't know if I'll like that... I'll have to wait and see.

I generally don't like FPS games, but I liked the system used in Fallout 1 & 2.
What I really wonder about is use of skills like stealing, etc mid-battle.

I liked having a high armor class, one so high that I could literally just walk up to someone, steal their reserve ammo (and other times) from them and wait for them to run out of ammo, then steal their gun when they put it away and then kill them with thier own stuff.
I always thought those kinds of weird things were what made Fallout so unique, I guess I'm just kind of worried that I won't be able to do stuff like that since whether or not enemies hit or miss might not be determined solely by stats anymore.



Hmm, but then again I guess I won't have to worry about getting owned like if you encounter Super Mutants right at the very start of Fallout... I don't think I ever survived no matter how far away from them on the screen I started out.

yea, speaking of stealing, you can sneak up on people and put live grenades in their pockets.

Killing people with pickpocketing was so broken in fallout 2.

I've never played a Fallout game but I'm so ridiculously excited for this. There was a Taiwanese website that leaked a few photos from the beginning of the game Bethesda was keeping secret, the character customization seems incredibly deep.

Does anyone know where I could find the original fallout games besides like ebay or something? I really want to play them.

The fallout they made on consoles was alot of fun too, brotherhood of steel plays like a hack and slash, but yes im incredibly excited for fallout 3, between it and fable2, it'll be like im playin ffxi again, gunna play them a ton. Over 100 hours of gameplay on this one, not to mention side quests and the excluisve DLC for xbox as well what else there will be to explore.

Well, if you can't find the jewel case double pack of 1&2 (it has been a couple years or so since it was common to see in Wal Mart n' such), Amazon (well, partner stores selling through Amazon) has the UK "collection" version for about $14 that includes Tactics as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...9946343&sr=8-1

well what gets me is that you need to play the game to know what pip boy is,

I think it's just a coincidence that he has a pip boy avatar... he might not even have realized it.

Between Fallout, The Force Unleashed, Mercenaries(getting today yayayayayayayayayay!), Infinite Undiscovery, Warhammer, Yakuza 2, Rock Band 2, Rise of the Argonauts, Saints Row 2, and Dead Space coming out, I'm going to be one broke son of a bitch this Christmas.

I am a massive fan of the original fall-outs (I used to use Pip-Boy as my handle in every game I played), but these videos make me very apprehensive... the first person stuff looks really lame -_-

You have the option of playing in solely third person and using the VAT system, I don't think it's gonna be a problem if you don't wanna try it.

Edit: I take that back, apparently whilst your AP is regenerating it goes back to the real time gameplay. Just gonna have to wait and see I guess.
